Nioh Sales Cross 1 Million Units Worldwide

Gold Armour slated as reward.

Team Ninja’s Nioh has sold more than one million copies worldwide since launching roughly two weeks ago. Publisher Koei Tecmo noted the figures, which include digital and retail units, to Gamer.ne.jp.

As a celebratory gift, all Nioh players will receive some swank Golden Armour in the game for free. It’s essentially a gold version of the Nioh Armour and will arrive with patch 1.04, which also offers a few bug fixes.

Taking inspiration from Dark Souls, channeling Onimusha with its atmosphere and using loot mechanics from Diablo, Nioh garnered a large amount of critical praise for its combat system, missions, variety of weapons and satisfying story. Even the story, which is fairly average, has been praised for its characters and light-hearted tone.
