Focuses on story improvements and quick travel with portals.

Hello Games hosted a fairly complex ARG called Waking Titan which led to the announcement of Atlas Rises, the next big content update for No Man’s Sky.

In an email provided as a heads-up to players (obtained by GalaSniper on Reddit), Hello Games boss Sean Murray revealed the name of update 1.3 and noted that it would release later this week for free to all players.

Murray also noted that the purpose of the update was to add more story. “It focuses on improving the central story of No Man’s Sky and adds the ability to quick travel between locations using portals.”

Full patch notes for Atlas Rises would be out after the update goes live so there’s more to look forward to. No Man’s Sky has already received two substantial free updates with Foundation and Path Finder, both which added a number of new features and content for players to engage with including bigger space battles, base building, large ships, Survival mode and much more.
