No Man’s Sky Players Meet, Can’t See Each Other

Which isn't all that surprising.

No Man's Sky

As stated many times, No Man’s Sky isn’t a multiplayer game. Creator Sean Murray has stated that players could possibly meet but the vastness of the universe ensures that it’s a very small possibility.

You know people though – they’ll still try to defy the odds. Such was the case when TheSadCactus and Psytokat, two Twitch streamers, tried to meet at the same place in No Man’s Sky though. Both men recorded their attempts (as per Reddit) but couldn’t see other when they met.

The common explanation is that they weren’t in the same server instance – especially since one wasn’t connected to PSN and faced constant drops. Whether players are more likely to share instances or not through some means is unknown. But keep in mind that this can happen in games like Destiny as well if some one isn’t on your fireteam. Ask anyone who’s tried to get six players together for Court of Oryx.

Also, No Man’s Sky seems to be experiencing quite the server load. Murray has responded (jokingly of course) that it would be nice if some people could get offline for a bit. What are your thoughts on the game thus far? Let us know below.
