No Man's Sky Synthesis

Hello Games has announced that next major update for No Man’s Sky, titled “Synthesis”. As update 2.2, Synthesis will add a number of requested features including the ability to upgrade Starships and salvage any unwanted ships. The Terrain Manipulator is also seeing some improvements with new Restore and Flatten modes.

Other features include first person Exocraft; revamping the Space Map; and speeding up a number of interactions. For instance, the Galactic Trade Terminal can now be accessed instantly. Other improvements include purchasing Planetary Charts from a full UI of the shop rather than via a dialog interaction.

Perhaps the biggest change, however, is the Personal Refiner. This will allow players to refine elements within their Exosuit. That’s right – no more placing a portable refiner down, thus streamlining the process significantly. Check out some of the major changes coming below – a full breakdown can be seen here. Stay tuned for more details on the update when it goes live tomorrow.

The Synthesis Update introduces a number of frequently-requested features and improvements to No Man’s Sky Beyond. Alongside these new features are a large number of community-led quality of life improvements, as well as general polish.

  • Starship Upgrades – Visit the Starship Outfitting Terminal at a Space Station to add inventory slots to your favorite starship, or spend nanites to upgrade its class.
