Burnout Paradise

It’s been a while since we’ve heard from Criterion Games, the studio behind the Burnout series. Last we heard, it was developing an open world action sports title of sorts, which has since been cancelled. The team has now shifted to developing Star Wars Battlefront: X-Wing VR Mission and helping other studios like DICE and Visceral Games.

Will it ever revisit the Burnout series? Not anytime soon and there’s nothing currently in development according to the official Twitter. “Definitely no new Burnout titles are planned right now, and that’s all there is to say at the moment.”

Criterion further clarified that with regards to Burnout Paradise being remastered for current gen consoles: “Not right now. We’re too busy doing lots of new things to go back in time.”

And if you’re still hoping that Burnout Paradise arrives for Xbox One’s backwards compatibility function, then you’re going to have to keep waiting. “Last Oct we said we wanted Paradise on BC and that’s still the plan. No news on when it’ll be ready though. Sorry!”

Would you like to see Burnout resurrected in some form or another, sometime soon? Let us know below.
