No, The PS+ Edition of DriveClub Has Not Been Abandoned

They're still working on it, apparently.

At this point, even though the disastrous launch of Sony and Evolution Studios’ DriveClub for the PS4 is a bit of a fading and distant memory, vestiges of it remain- the game still has bugs (although they are not very numerous), and of course, the elephant in the room is the continued absence of the PS+ Edition of DriveClub, which, I have to remind you, we were promised back before the PS4 even launched, two years ago now.

According to Evolution Studios, they are working on fixing both of these problems.

According to Paul Rustchynsky, the studio is still working on the PS+ Edition, and will share news when they are ready.

“We’re still working on it. When we have news we’ll update you.”

He also confirmed that the studio was working on getting rid of the bugs in the game, most notably the Trophy Bug:

“There’s a bug with the trophy which means you have to be online when the challenge expires. This is being fixed.”

Evolution Studios promised that DriveClub would be a continually evolving product, it is nice to see that they are keeping their word here.
