November NES Games for Nintendo Switch Online Subscribers Shown in New Video

Metroid is the big headliner game for this month.

Nintendo handles free game perks for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers a bit differently from how Microsoft and Sony handle Games with Gold and PS Plus Instant Game Collection respectively. Instead of having games in rotation that are available to download only for a month (albeit accessible for as long as the subscription is maintained), Nintendo has a Netflix like structure for its NES Classic games library.

Essentially, new games are added to the vault every month, but you can also access everything else available on it at all times. The catalog of NES games for the service is actually surprisingly good, considering that we are working with 30 year old games here, and this month’s new additions will bolster it further.

This month, subscribers get MetroidMighty Bomb Jack, and TwinBee. While TwinBee and Mighty Bomb Jack hold up surprisingly well, it is Metroid that is the real headliner here, especially since it ended up spawning not just one of Nintendo’s most beloved franchises ever, but also an entire genre bearing its name.

You can check out these additions, as well as those to come later, in a new video by Nintendo highlighting the NES game library. Hopefully, Nintendo drops an interesting surprise like the tweaked version of the original Legend of Zelda for subscribers some time soon.
