Kojima Productions’ Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain is now available for one and all and suffice to say that it’s already ruffling feathers with its storyline decisions. We won’t spoil anything here of course but there is a very cool scene where the staff of Mother Base wishes you happy birthday. In real life, we mean.

While we won’t spoil exactly how you can get this secret scene, it’s still very interesting how such a thing even exists in the game. Miller and Ocelot will wish Big Boss, roll out a cake, shoot some fireworks and the “Happy Birthday” song can be heard in the background. Sure, it seems slightly ridiculous but it’s great to see the lengths that the development team will go for these little details.

Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain is currently available for PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. What are your thoughts on it thus far? Let us know in the comments.
