Monster Hunter World

Capcom’s Monster Hunter World was the star of last month, both in terms of critical reception and commercial sales. After Capcom reported six million units sold, The NPD Group has come out with its report for January 2018, outlining sales in the United States, and Monster Hunter World has emerged on top.

Along with being the top selling game on the all platforms chart, Monster Hunter World also topped the Xbox One and PS4 software sales charts. This makes January 2018 the best launch month for the Monster Hunter series in the United States.

Dragon Ball FighterZ also did pretty well, ranking second in the all platforms chart and the PS4 software sales chart. It scored the best launch month sales for the franchise since Dragon Ball Z: Budokai released in 2002. Call of Duty: WW2, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds and Grand Theft Auto 5 make up the other top five selling games for January 2018 in the United States.
