Oculus Rift

The Oculus Rift is primed to be a legitimate revolution for video games, not unlike what the Nintendo 64 was back in the day- it’s an entirely new way of playing and even thinking about games. However, tis also means that the onus is on Oculus to actually provide people with meaningful content that could validate this new paradigm. Thankfully, Oculus is doing just that, as all launch units of the headset will come bundled with a copy of Farlands.

Farlands is an Oculus Rift exclusive experience, made by Oculus themselves, using Epic’s Unreal Engine 4. It involves players visiting an alien planet, and exploring it, discovering its vibrant flora and fauna- so like an Avatar, but for VR. It sounds like as good an introduction to VR as any.

You can check out a trailer for Farlands (obviously not in VR, though!) below. Farlands, and the Oculus Rift, is available now.
