Origin not mandatory for Simcity but requires internet connection to play

Posted By | On 28th, Mar. 2012

Stone Librande, lead designer confirmed this news has confirmed to Joystiq that Simcity requires internet connection to play.  Good news is that you don’t require Origin to download the game, it will be available on many digital distribution services.

The game will arrive in 2013, but permanent internet connection is a pretty terrible news. You mostly expect things like these from Ubisoft, not EA. Oh, who am I kidding.

Create the city you desire and make the choices that shape your city and power the Sims within it. Every decision, big or small, has real consequences.

The ability to purchase the game on any DD service is a pretty good news to many gamers, but there has to be a downer, is it?

Tell us what you think in the comments section below.

Thanks, Joystiq.
