Our Expectations From Xbox 3

We Want More Exclusives, Damn It!

One of the main complaints with the Xbox 360 is that it has a very weak exclusive lineup. Only a few select games like Halo: Reach, Halo 3, Gears of War 2, Forza Motorsport 3, Fable II and a few others are the totally exclusive Xbox 360 titles. Even titles like Gears of War- which is also on the PC- and Mass Effect 2- which will be on the PS3 soon-, which are said to be the system’s “killer aps” are not exclusives. We want more exclusives from Microsft next generation, and not just a select few franchises. Create new IPs, build already established franchises, make third party biggies like Final Fantasy and Resident Evil completely exclusive, and we will have at our hands a library to be reckoned with.

Blue, Blue

Massive (literally) games on the Xbox 360 usually use up two DVDs to completely cover. Games like Mass Effect 2, Final Fantasy XIII, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow and many others, take up more than one disc to cover. Not only this give the impression that the game might be unbearably long (which is not a good thing to some gamers), it also means that the experiences of these games are stripped-down on the Xbox 360 as opposed to those on the PS3. Running on the Blu-Ray disc would hurt Microsoft’s ego somewhat, but wouldn’t hurt their cash reserves. Larger capacity for discs, better quality of games, and having Blu-Ray as the optical medium for the system might turn out to be one heck of a decision.

3 Dimensions With Two Eyes

I feel like laughing whenever I see people watching 3D stuff wearing glasses. They look like noobs. I mean, I greatly admire Sony’s ambition to tread into such bold paths, and actually do it with some measure of success, and I like their tech, but the 3D glasses just piss me off. If MS can somehow incorporate 3D into the Xbox 3 without the need of any glasses, it would be heaven for all 3D lovers.

That Is All!

That is all from our list, people. We will be back soon with more such lists for every single one of the upcoming consoles/handhelds. So stay tuned.
