Overwatch 2’s next hero is confirmed, and it’s a new Tank – Hazard of the Phreaks. He debuts in Season 14 starting December 10th, but how does he play? If you didn’t play him over the weekend, check out the latest gameplay trailer below.
As a Brawl Dive tank, Hazard can vault over walls and grab ledges. The latter comes into play when utilizing Jagged Wall, his first ability, which creates a solid wall to block damage and push enemies back. He can also cause it to emit from walls, providing more access to high ground.
Spike Guard is his main means of tanking, blocking damage while firing spikes that home in on foes in range. Violent Leap is a gap closer, which initiates a powerful slash with knockback. His Ultimate, Downpour, sends down spikes from the sky, slowing opponents and setting them up for a dive.
Hazard is as a strong alternative to Doomfist and Winston, though time will tell how he slots into the current meta. Stay tuned for more details when Season 14 arrives in the coming weeks.
