Blizzard has announced a new event for Overwatch 2 celebrating the Lunar New Year. The event brings with it new skins, cosmetic changes to maps, and arcade brawls, along with rewards that can be earned by simply logging in to the game. The event is slated to go on until February 1.

Arcade brawls part of the Lunar New Year event include capture the flag, capture the flag blitz, and bounty hunter. Playing these arcade brawls during the event will reward players with bonus cosmetics and Battle Pass XP.

The event also features four primary challenges which, when completed, will reward players with the Kkachi Echo skin.

Blizzard recently announced that it hopes to improve the game’s lack of tangible rewards through simply playing with its third season. A recent tweet by executive producer Jared Neuss spoke about bringing “more exciting play-focused progression systems” to the game that would “help address the lack of choice in rewards”.

Overwatch 2 is a free-to-play shooter available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch.
