Overwatch 2 – Mei Disabled Until November 15th Due to Exploits

Bugs with Ice Wall allowed heroes to reach "unintended locations" with their abilities. It's the second time a hero has been disabled in the sequel.

Overwatch 2

After Bastion was re-enabled for all modes in Overwatch 2, Mei is now disabled. This has been done to fix bugs with Ice Wall, which lets heroes reach unintended locations in conjunction with their abilities. The plan is to bring her back on November 15th, when its mid-season balance patch goes live.

It also reminded players that the In-Game Code of Conduct warned against exploits from bugs since this constitutes cheating. So if you’ve abused Mei’s Ice Wall to win some matches, you might be in trouble.

Mei and heroes like Reaper had several bugs that allowed for reaching unintended locations in Overwatch 1 yet remained enabled. The disabling here may be because the issue is too severe or widespread. Either way, stay tuned for a fix in the coming weeks.

Overwatch 2 is available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, PC, and Nintendo Switch. Check out out review here to see how it fares.
