Overwatch Lunar New Year event

Blizzard Entertainment’s Overwatch is having quite the buzz these days, between the Overwatch League and the new event Year of the Dog going live today. To that end, the developer has confirmed one cool new feature coming to the game – the ability to switch skins before a match.

An example of the same was shared through Twitter which shows a small tab in the upper right during hero selection. This can be used to select whatever skins the player owns and equip them before a match. It’s worth noting that skins can NOT be changed in the middle of a match. So if you’re looking to decide on a skin, you’ll have to lock it in beforehand (which should be hilarious for games joined in progress).

Skin switching will go live on February 8th along with the Year of the Dog event. A new Capture the Flag map set in Thailand along with changes to the mode (including a four week Competitive season) are also in store. Six new Legendary skins exclusive to the event will also be added.
