Overwatch’s 27th Hero Teased Via “Operation White Dome”

Emre Sarioglu could very well be the next hero in Blizzard's shooter.

Blizzard Entertainment has begun the process of teasing its next hero for Overwatch, the 27th character to be added to the game’s roster since launch. A new piece of lore was published by the official Twitter account which contains a declassified account of Operation White Dome.

This report is written by Ana Amari and talks about the mission that the team took on in Istanbul, Turkey. After being ambushed, Torbjörn Lindholm would suffer injuries but it was Reinhardt Wilhelm who ultimately saved him. Oh and Private First Class Emre Sarioglu was there as well.

Who’s Emre Sarioglu? That’s the big question, of course. If the lore piece is teasing anything like Orisa’s did, where we were introduced to Efi before Orisa, then it’s possible Emre is not the next hero but related to them. With Uprising as the next big event after Lunar New Year, it wouldn’t be odd to debut Emre in this scenario. The mode itself could be another flashback mission taking place in Istanbul.
