The Nintendo Switch Online service has been home to a handful of unique free-to-play battle royale experiences, and though Tetris 99 – as the first release in that line of games – is probably the most popular, others have carved out their audiences as well. One of those is Pac-Man 99, which launched in 2021, though that, sadly, won’t be sticking around for much longer.
Nintendo has announced that Pac-Man 99 will be ending its services and getting delisted in October, while other aspects of the game will be taken offline over the course of the preceding months. On August 8, paid custom themes will no longer be purchasable, while on September 8, players will no longer be able to buy the Mode Unlock and Deluxe Pack DLCs.
Finally, October 8 will see the end of service and delisting for Pac-Man 99. This will entail online play becoming unavailable for the battle royale and private matches modes, as well as for the online leaderboards section of records. New users will also no longer be able to download the game, though those who’ve previously downloaded it will still be able to redownload it, in addition to any DLC you may have purchased.
Following the game’s end of service, its offline modes (CPU Battle, Score Attack, and Blind Time Attack) will still remain available.
