According to Michael Pachter, Activision “has more to gain than EA” if they will buy the Rock Band developer, Harmonix.
“It would most likely be between EA and Activision, and the latter has more money and has more to gain by eliminating the competition,” said Pachter.
MTV parent Viacom put the Dance Central studio for sale due to the recent 59 percent Q3 earning drops.
Harmonix said that “this morning’s announcement does not affect the ongoing work at the studio as we continue to support our existing franchises, Rock Band and Dance Central.”
