Hi-Rez Studios’ Paladins, which faced its fair amount of criticism for copying gameplay aspects and character abilities from Blizzard’s Overwatch, has seen great success on PC. It has more than four million players on PC and is one of the “most popular games on Steam” according to the developer.

Hi-Rez COO Todd Harris stated recently that, “The worldwide response to Paladins has been incredible. It has been thrilling to see the game grow week-over-week since the Steam open beta began in mid-September, as well as to hear all of the player feedback, which we are constantly using to improve the game.”

Even more interestingly is how Paladins is available on PC through Steam Early Access. The title is free to play though so pretty much anyone can try it out. It will also be out on Xbox One and PS4 in the future so console players can look forward to seeing what the big deal is about.
