Epic Games’ Paragon will be receiving a huge update next month with Monolith. The update will arrive on December 6th and introduces a new map to the game for the first time.

Dubbed “Monolith” as per the update, it will update the current Legacy map and is intended to reduce the average length of matches down. The idea is that the map’s smaller size will make for more impactful players but we’ll see how that pans out when the map actually lands.

Interestingly enough, Travel mode will also be removed since Epic Games found it bad for combat and more a direct result of Legacy being too large.

“We’ve always had the goal of creating the most competitive and immersive MOBA out there, and after months of testing our original designs and your feedback, we think Monolith helps us get closer to that goal.”

Several blog posts have been released detailing the process behind Monolith, which can all be seen here. Paragon is currently in the open beta stage on PC and PS4, making it free to play for all.
