“Partnership With Nintendo” for Minecraft’s Mario Update “Has Been Great” – Phil Spencer

"Rare Replay on Wii U?" replies Reggie Fils-Aime.

Mojang’s Minecraft has seen some rather interesting developments since being acquired by Microsoft and while many felt that the acquisition could limit its content on other consoles, the recent Super Mario Mash-Up Pack for Minecraft: Wii U Edition shows this hasn’t been the case.

Xbox division boss Phil Spencer also took to Twitter, noting that, “Partnership with Nintendo on this has been great, nice to see Minecraft doing so well on the Wii U and to get the Mario content.”

Nintendo of America COO and president Reggie Fils-Aime was also quite happy. “It was great working together with you, Phil. Now we will bring Rare Replay to the Wii U?”

We’re not sure of the viability of that last part.

The free Super Mario Mash-Up Pack update will be arriving for Minecraft: Wii U Edition on May 18th. What are your thoughts on the cooperation between Microsoft and Nintendo? Let us know in the comments.
