PC version of Metro: Last Light is “one of, if not the best looking game” ever made, says producer

Screenshots are a testament to the claim.

The original Metro: 2033 was a technical marvel which still brings top end PC setups of today to its knees when its settings are cranked up to 11. It was no slouch on consoles either.

The visuals went a long way in adding to the atmosphere and immersing the player in its world. Naturally, a worthy follow up is expected from the sequel and from what we’ve seen so far the game has managed to impress. But the full extent of the technical prowess of the development team is only realized once the game hits shelves.

Producer Huw Beynon is claiming that Metro: Last Light will be one of the best looking games in the market once it releases.  Although one could argue that it’s his job to make such bodacious statements, the screenshots beg to differ.

“It looks fantastic on 360 as well, but [on PC] you have a different potential that you can hit,” Beynon told Eurogamer. “If someone asks me are we doing a next-gen version – well, yes we are. It’s the PC. We’re one of the few studios out there that have a proven piece of tech that’s built for high-end PCs. I firmly believe that the PC version of Metro: Last Light is one of, if not the best looking game you can actually buy, period, at the moment.”

PS3 and Xbox 360 gamers need not fear, as the developer has tapped out as much as they can from the 8 year old consoles.

“We’re still proud of how we’ve managed to adapt that for the current generation of consoles” he added.
