Persona 3 Movie Finally Revealed: “Spring of Birth” Arrives in Fall 2013

Anime movie based on the popular RPG series receives new details

There’s finally been an update on the Persona 3 anime movie that’s been in development. Based off the popular RPG developed by Atlus, Persona 3: Spring of Birth is confirmed to be releasing in theaters in Fall 2013. It will feature a new name of its protagonist: Makoto Yuki.

Not much else is known about the movie and how it takes inspiration from the game, but we do know that it’s being directed by Noriaki Akitaya, who also worked as the director on the successful Bakuman anime. Meanwhile, Devil Survivor 2 anime director Seiji Kishi is also on board serving as supervisor. Animation duties will be handled by AIC ASTA.

Persona 3 was first released for the PlayStation 2 and helped revive the series for a whole new generation of gamers. It follows the story of SEES, a group of a high school students who fight mysterious Shadows using the power of Personas.
