Persona 5 Confirmed For 2015 North American Release

It's finally happening!

You see, Persona is one of my favorite series. Persona 4 (specifically Golden) is one of my all time favorite games. I am one of those people who would take a hundred Half Life 3 cancellations for one concrete Persona 5 announcement. So when it was announced last Fall, I was excited. When it didn’t get a western release date, I was sad.

When it finally got one today, my excitement was palpable. I don’t remember the last time gaming news excited me so much.

You see, Persona 5 is coming. It is coming to the US. It is coming exclusively on the PlayStation 3 in 2015, because Atlus’ games are so good I’d play them on my wristwatch if I had to.

In other news, Persona Q, the 3DS exclusive Persona game (and the first time Persona has appeared on non Sony hardware) was also confirmed for a Fall 2014 release, as was Persona 4 Arena Ultimax, the sequel to the hit fighting game Persona 4 Arena that itself acted as a sequel to Persona 4. Persona 4: Dancing All Night, the Vita exclusive Persona rhythm game got confirmed for a 2015 release.

… Yes, Atlus tends to milk this brand just a little. But I don’t care. It’s more Persona!
