Persona 5 Gets Rated M For Mature By ESRB

Take your heart.

To the casual bystander, the Persona series has always been a series of those games that shouldn’t be rated M for Mature – they look such wonderful, feel good games that generally seem to have a kid friendly veneer – but thanks to the themes and incredible philosophical and psychological nuances that they tackle, end up getting rated out of the purview of kids.

Persona 5 will be like that, too- if you thought that it’s ‘cartoon graphics’ were a license for it to be enjoyed by your kid or your younger sibling, you may want to think about that again. The game has been rated M for Mature by ESRB, and includes heavy references to sexual activity, gratuitous depiction of blood and violence, and some pretty intense language. You can check out more details on the ESRB page for the game, although you may want to watch out for unintentional spoilers.

Persona 5 is going to launch on April 4 in North America and Europe on PS3 and PS4.
