Persona 5 New Trailer Shows Off Gameplay Mechanics

Take your heart.

Persona 5 will offer the series’ latest take on the mythos of people’s psyches, that manifest as twisted labyrinths and the fearful shadows. And the newest trailer for the game, which released earlier today, shows us how the game’s take on Shadows and Palaces (which are this game’s version of the dungeons from previous games) will work.

It sounds like the Palaces will involve the team to figure out some information about the person whose consciousness forms the palace (not dissimilar to how things worked in Persona 4); once inside the palace, however, the team will navigate actually handcrafted dungeons, rather than the procedurally designed dungeons of Persona 3 and Persona 4, solving puzzles, fighting enemies, until they finally face off the evil desire that is at the core of the Palace.

You can check out this trailer for yourself below. Persona 5 is going to launch on April 4 in North America and Europe on PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4.
