Persona 5 Re-Release On The Way?

If so, could it be for the Nintendo Switch?

Persona 5 re-release may be on the way- as it turns out, Atlus has apparently gone ahead and registered domains for p5r.jp, which is now leading to speculation that Atlus may have a Persona 5… remake? Re-release? Racing game? On the way.

If it is a re-release, the ‘R’ would probably stand for something like ‘Ruby’ or ‘Rouge’ or even ‘Red’. Or it could borrow from the game’s story, and simply name it ‘Rebellion’ or ‘Revolution’. As for what a re-release would be on, every single Persona game has had a portable re-release… but there’s no viable portable for Persona to go to this time except for the Nintendo Switch. Might this be be a Persona 5 re-release on the Switch? It could, of course, also be a release for PC, or even just a PS4 re-release- after all, Persona 3 FES did just that.

There are those who would argue that it’s too early for a re-release- but Persona 5 released one year ago in Japan, and if this re-release is a year away from release now, it will be coming two years down the line, which is an adequate distance from the original game.

Is this a re-release? Something else entirely? Might it even be announced any time soon? It is important to note that while this domain is registered by Atlus, it has seen no activity whatsoever recently. Maybe it’s being saved for later…
