Persona 5 Royal Announcement Teased By Atlus, Western Release Date Reveal Possibly Coming

In typical Atlus fashion, we get an announcement of an announcement.

Atlus fans are long suffering, not least because they have to wait so long for the games they like to actually be localized. Persona 5 came to the west a full seven months after it launched in Japan; Persona 5 Royal doesn’t even have a release date announced yet.

But that last part is probably about to change. Today on Twitter, Atlus USA teased an announcement for Persona 5 Royal coming in 12 days (which happens to be December 3), stating that “the truth of [the game]” will be revealed then. I assume, mostly, that this means they are about to announce the release date for the game then, although for all we know, it could be something else, like a Stadia port.

I do hope it’s the announcement of a release date, though. Whenever it launches, it will end up taking over my life for a good bit, and I’d like to plan for that properly.

If you’re not sure what the hype is about with Persona, make sure to check out our review for the original Persona 5 – although if you like what you read, don’t go out and buy it just yet. Best to just wait for Royal at this point.
