Persona 5 Royal continues to look better and better with each new thing we learn about it. When it was revealed, we found out that it’d be adding tons of new stuff, from a third semester, to new characters and confidants, to new story elements, new music tracks, new features and mechanics, and loads more. The additional content, in fact, is so substantial, Atlus is claiming it goes beyond what they added to Persona 4 with Persona 4 Golden – and they added plenty back then.
Atlus have now released a handful of new gameplay videos for the upcoming RPG, and though it doesn’t reveal anything new that we don’t yet know about, it does give us a look at a lot of the stuff that’s already been confirmed. We get a look at some of the new characters, including Kasumi Yoshizawa (we also get to see her in combat), and new confidant Takuto Maruki.
Scenes from the additional new third semester are also shown off, giving us a look at plenty of new locations, new activities (such as snooker), as well as new scenes with the Phantom Thieves. There’s plenty to look at, and though it’s all in Japanese, which means you may not understand (unless, well, you know Japanese), it still gives us a look at how the added content is looking. Take a look below.
Persona 5 Royal is out in Japan in October exclusively for the PS4, and will be coming west some time in 2020, with an exact release date not yet announced. Recently, we learned that the game is being helmed by the director of Persona 4 Golden. Read more on that through here.
