Is it coming to the Swi-? No. No, it isn't.

Persona 5 Royal is shaping up to be an excellent expansion of an already excellent game, and the amount of new content it touts is quite exciting for all series fans as well. It will, in all likelihood, become the definitive Persona 5 experience- but will anyone not with a PS4 be able to experience it any time soon? It seems unlikely.

Recently, Atlus put up an FAQ regarding Persona 5 Royal on their website. One of the most frequently asked questions, as you might imagine, was whether we’ll be seeing the upcoming RPG on anything other than the PS4 any time soon (I imagine there’s huge demand for it on the Switch). Atlus’ response was short, succint, and to-the-point. “There is no plan at present,” they responded. Which, in Atlus speak, means “no”.

Which means the expanded Persona 5 release will remain exclusive to PlayStation, just as Persona 4 Golden did. This also means Atlus doesn’t like making money, but we already knew that, or else they would have released Persona 5 on the Switch.

Persona 5 Royal launches in Japan for the PS4 in October this year, and will be coming West in 2020. Stay tuned for more updates.
