Persona 5 Royal is inching its way toward release. The game is promising one of the most significant updates to their RPGs ever, and Atlus Japan is full on with the marketing right now. Earlier we got a look at the first 11 minutes of the game, which you can see through here. Now we get a sneak peak at a new mechanic in the game’s sprawling Mementos.

In a new video, we get an explanation of the new darker floors in the labyrinth. In certain random floors, the consciousness of everyone in the city fuses together to create a nasty darkness. The floor will be more challenging than others, but the rewards will be greater as rarer items will drop. But it’s something you’ll have to earn.

Persona 5 Royal launches in Spring 2020 only on PlayStation 4. To see a few more of the new mechanics the game will offer from the original experience, you can check through here.
