Persona 5 Royal is only about a month away from release in its homeland of Japan. It’s promising a lot of new content to a game that already was packed with content. There also just happens to be a big gaming conference in Tokyo going on right now, so of course the game got a little showing. We got a look at some of that new content in the form of Challenge Battles.

On TGS 2019 Day 3, Sega and Atlus hosted an event focused on the game. It featured several of the game’s Japanese voice actors. After a chat and recap about the game, they showed off the Challenge Battles. These are going to be a series of battles accessed via The Velvet Room. Here you will have to face off against tough enemies without the use of your most powerful moves (such as the All-Out Attack) to get various rewards. Check it out below.

Persona 5 Royal may release in Japan on October 31st, but those of us in the West will have to wait until Spring 2020. In the meantime, you can check out the stylish new opening movie for the game.
