Hot on the heels of a brand new trailer, and the long awaited announcement of its Japanese release date, Atlus today confirmed that the eagerly anticipated PlayStation exclusive JRPG Persona 5 will be showcased at E3 2016- which means E3 is the next place that fans can expect the game to be at.

An E3 showing also means that that is probably where the western release date will be announced for the game- the September 15 release date announced so far is only for Japan, and the game will probably be staggered by 4-6 weeks into October for its launch in the west. It also means that the game will probably be showcased on stage during Sony’s press conference, lending it a lot of mainstream exposure that will probably help it be the biggest Persona game yet.

Let’s hope that the E3 showing is not a bust- Persona is on the cusp of becoming a major success. Atlus need to utilize this ‘all eyes on them’ moment, and generate some serious hype. Being quiet about their biggest game yet won’t help with that.

Persona 5 will launch on PS3 and PS4 later this year.
