Pikmin 4 saw a stellar debut in Japan upon its launch last week with over 400,000 physical copies sold, and it has continued to enjoy strong sales in its second week. As per the latest weekly hardware and physical software sales charts released by Famitsu, Nintendo’s strategy title topped software charts for a second week running, with over 115,000 physical copies sold in Japan in its second week (taking its total physical sales in the region to over 517,000 units).
A number of new releases occupy places in the top 10 as well. Spike Chunsoft’s adventure game Natsu-Mon! 20th Century Summer Vacation has debuted in second place with over 18,000 units sold, while new Metroidvania platformer Disney Illusion Island comes in at No. 7 with over 7,000 units sold. On the hardware front, the Switch continues to lead the way again, having sold over 78,000 units over the course of the week. It maintains a healthy lead over the PS5, which moved over 53,000 units.
