The Wonderful 101

Hideki Kamiya is a rockstar of a game designer- the man has one of the most impressive resumes in all of gaming, what with him having worked on games like Resident Evil 2, Devil May Cry, Viewtiful Joe, Okami, God Hand, Bayonetta, The Wonderful 101, and the upcoming Scalebound.

Sadly, however, he doesn’t actually own the rights to any of his games- Bayonetta is owned by Sega, The Wonderful 101 by Nintendo, Scalebound by Microsoft, and everything else by Capcom. Nevertheless, with Platinum being essentially freelance developers, fans continue to hold on to hope that he will one day return to making new games in franchises that he once helped kickstart- a sequel to Devil May Cry, maybe, or to Viewtiful Joe.

And fueling this speculation is a new series of tweets by him, which asks fans which of his games they would like to see a sequel to, and which character they would like to see in a hypothetical spin off. A lot of these games listed are brands still owned by Capcom, with whom Kamiya had an acrimonious split leading to the birth of Platinum- so this hints at some sort of reconciliation in the future, which is something a lot of fans would love.

Which of his games would you like to see him return to?
