PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds

It’s been a long wait, but we finally know when Xbox players can play the biggest game of the year on their consoles- PlayerUnknown’s BattleGrounds will be launching on the Xbox One via Xbox Preview on December 12, Microsoft confirmed in a stream during Paris Games Week today. So, mark your calendars- that’s when you can play the game for yourself on your Xbox.

It was also confirmed that the PC version of the game will be getting out of early access before the end of December, and be having its full, final 1.0 release before year-end. Xbox One players will have to wait longer to get the final release- but at least they will be able to play the game soon enough.

It will be interesting to see just how much of an effect the idea of console PUBG has on the Xbox One’s sales this Holiday season, if any at all- but until we have the context of hindsight that will inevitably come later, it is hard to deny that PUBG is a major win for Microsoft and the Xbox.
