PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds Patch Increases Damage Over Time of Blue Zone

Being further away from the play zone will cause you to take more damage now.

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds

The newest patch for PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has hit live servers after some time in testing and it makes a pretty significant change to the game’s blue zone. That’s the outer ring which closes in on certain safe zones and damages players unfortunate enough to weather it.

The biggest change is that the blue zone deals more damage over time when players are farther away from the play zone. So if you happen to lag behind it when trying to reach a safe spot, it will deal more damage the farther you fall behind.

It should be noted that this won’t apply to the first blue zone so if you’re stuck on the opposite side of the island, don’t worry about it (at least not immediately). The patch is live on Steam and requires a 2GB download. It also fixes a bug where bullets would sometimes ignore armour.

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is rapidly approaching version 1.0 and is scheduled to release for Xbox One by 2017 end. What are your thoughts on the latest change? Let us know below.
