Sony has released the beta for the next major update for the PlayStation 5. In a blog post, the company has revealed some of the new features coming to the console in the update, which include new more control over DualSense features, Share Screen interactions, and the ability to adjust the brightness of the power indicator light bar on the console.

When it comes to DualSense features, the update will now allow players to make use of the controller’s speakers to produce higher volume sounds. This can allow players to better hear in-game and voice chat audio more clearly directly from the controller.

The mic input in the DualSense now also supports improved noise cancellation through the use of a new AI machine learning model. Background noise from various things, like button presses and audio from the TV or speakers, are now suppressed while making use of the controller’s mic input.

On the social side of things, the update will bring the ability to interact with players making use of the Share Screen feature. This includes the ability to draw a line or send a ping to a certain part of the screen with the use of new cursors. Viewers can also send emoji reactions to the host through the new feature.

The update is currently available in beta form to participants in select countries. The global release of the update is slated for the coming months.
