10 PlayStation Games That Could Do With Move Support [VIDEO]

6. Ape Escape

The original Ape Escape innovated hugely back in 1999, when it was one of the first games to fully utilize the dual analogue sticks on Sony’s Dualshock controller. The series has since seen two major sequels on PS2, but the only PS3 title from the series was the party game spin-off: Ape Escape Fury! Fury! Though Fury! Fury! Uses Sony’s Move controllers, we need a main Ape Escape game to carry on the control innovations seen in the original games, but with motion controls this time. Swinging around your net, and remote controlling RC cars with motion controls would be sweet, and we can only hope this will make it into an Ape Escape 4.

5. Resistance 3

Resistance devs, Insomniac Games, are still hanging in the balance regarding Move supports for the upcoming third title in the series. They have until September to decide the fate of motion controls within the game, (and will most likely base their decision on how Move support is received in Killzone 3 in the long run) but I’d argue this Move implementation will be a must for the game. With Naughty Dog also debating about the idea of Move support in Uncharted 3, the motion control hardware needs some more “core” franchise support, and Resistance 3 looks like it will have the skills to pay the bills. That and, I’d argue that Resistance would suit Move support more than a shooter hybrid title such as Uncharted.

4. The Last Guardian

It seems quite cheeky putting two titles from Team Ico in the list, but desperate times call for desperate measures. Though we don’t have a huge amount of concrete details on The Last Gardian’s gameplay, we know that a large part of the game will involve the player’s interactions with Trico, a large feathered beast resembling a griffon. Though I’m sure attempting to train and gesture to Trico will work well with traditional controllers, a motion controller would really help immerse you in the creature training gameplay of The Last Guardian even more. It would, of course, need to be optional so as not to offend those used to controlling Team Ico’s previous games with a normal controller. Regardless, having the option of motion controls would get the gaming public even more anxious to see how The Last Guardian will turn out.
