In many ways, it is easy to be a bit resentful towards PlayStation Plus, especially in recent years. It holds a lot of things that should be basic, free utilities, like cloud backup for saves, automatic synching for profile and Trophy data, and yes, online play, hostage behind a paywall. But then you realize that it represents tremendous value, not only because of the early access and discounted prices that it gives you access to, but also because of the free games you get a month.
In 2014, PlayStation Plus gave out $1,349 in games to its subscribers, a staggering value that more than pays for the entry fee of $50 many times over. A few caveats, of course- to get access to all this value, you needed to own a PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation Vita, and of course, if you let your subscription lapse, you lose access to the games, but why would you let it lapse anyway when the value it adds and provides is this good?
This further cements PS Plus’s status as one of the best deals in gaming.
