A cryptic tweet has gone up from the PlayStation Russia Twitter account with absolutely no explanation or context. The tweet is a picture of a PS4 Pro console, right next to a gigantic ‘X’- and people have no idea what it could be out.
Guesses about the image so far have ranged from another PS4 model (PS4 X?), a tease for the PS5, cross play functionality being enabled for PSN, name changes for PSN (though I’m not entirely sure how that ties into ‘X’, but hey), to something as banal as a tease for this year’s PlayStation Experience (PS’X’). My personal guess is it could be referencing the ability to play PS1 Classics on the PS4 (which the console so far cannot)- as a reminder, the PS1 is popularly known as ‘PSX’, so it does fit.
But this is all speculation based on one very cryptic image so far. We have heard noting concrete from anyone since- none of the other PlayStation Twitter accounts, for example, have posted anything resembling a tease since. So it is also possible that whatever this is teasing might be for the Russian market only.
