PlayStation VR Pre-Orders At GAME No Longer Guarantee Launch Day Delivery

Is it too late to pre-order now?

If you haven’t pre-ordered a PlayStation VR for yourself already, you may be out of luck- at least if you were planning on getting the game at launch. It seems as though the headset’s initial allocations are rapidly selling out everywhere, and GAME, the UK’s leading retailer for video game hardware, software, and accessories, is no longer guaranteeing launch day deliveries for any pre-orders placed going forward.

“Please note: All PlayStation VR pre-orders placed after 8th April 2016 are not guaranteed for launch,” GAME notes on the PSVR product page.

While other VR headsets have been plagued by low stock and shortages, which has led to delayed deliveries for them too, by all accounts, Sony has a healthy stock ready for launch- meaning that this sellout represents what may go on to be a very successful launch for them. VR may become mainstream yet, and PlayStation VR looks like it will be the product to achieve that feat.
