With Andrew House having moved on, PlayStation now has a new boss- John Kodera. Today, he made his first public appearance at the PlayStation Awards, introducing himself to the world, and also underscoring the Japanese market’s continued importance to the PlayStation brand, in spite of its pivot towards the west in recent years.

His speech, which you can check out below (via DualShockers), sees him recount his career at PlayStation (which spans 25 years!), as well as him talking about his future plans for the brand. He also takes the opportunity to thanks fans.

Under Andrew House, PlayStation managed to reach the zenith of its success with the PS4 and PSN both achieving near ubiquity in console gaming- whether or not Mr. Kodera manages to continue that kind of success is something that remains to be seen- but it is abundantly clear that he has some hefty and big shoes to fill.
