Earlier this year, The Pokemon Company announced not one, but two major upcoming Pokemon games, and while most of the headlines were grabbed by the ambitious looking open world adventure of Pokemon Legends: Arceus, there are quite a few fans of the series who’ve also got their eye on the long-anticipated remakes of the beloved fourth generation of the series.

A late 2021 launch window was all that was previously given for Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, but it’s now been confirmed via the official Pokemon Twitter page that the remakes will be launching exclusively for the Nintendo Switch on November 19, a few months from now. That’s pretty much the timeframe we would have expected, but it’s nice to have confirmation nonetheless.

Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl will be the first mainline entries in the series which won’t be developed by Game Freak, with ILCA (a developer that has worked as a support studio on a number of games in the past) taking the reigns. Series producer Junichi Masuda is co-directing the project, however.

Game Feak, meanwhile, are hard at work on Pokemon Legends: Arceus, which launches on January 28, 2022.
