A new feature is set to be introduced to Pokemon Go! The feature will now allow players to trade pokemon and also add friends. This will surely improve the social aspects of the game. There are also friendship levels to pay attention to which will determine what kind of gifts you can grant a particular friend.

HOW TO ADD FRIENDS

You can add friends just by typing in the trainer code for a friend you want to add. You can improve the Friendship Level with a friend by trading, joining raids with the friend, or sending special gifts. There are four Friendship Levels and they are as follows:

  • Good Friend
  • Great Friend
  • Ultra Friend
  • Best Friend

The higher the Friendship level is, the lower the cost of Stardust will be to trade with this friend. After you have added a friend, you will randomly come across Special Gifts when spinning PokeStops. These cannot be opened by you and can only be opened by a friend.

HOW TO TRADE POKEMON WITH A FRIEND

To trade Pokemon with a friend, you must be of a level of 10 or higher at the very least. To trade Pokemon that are not in your Pokedex or rare Pokemon like Legendary or Shiny Pokemon, you will have to make use of a Special Trade. Mythic Pokemon, however, cannot be traded even using the Special trade. Special Trades can only be initiated with a friend whose Friendship Level is that of Ultra Friend or Best Friend. These Special Trades can only be used once per day.
