Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu

Nintendo and The Pokemon Company released a brand new trailer for Pokemon Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Let’s Go, Eevee! today, which shows off a whole host of gameplay footage from the game, including some of the most beloved parts of Pokemon Red/Blue redone in glorious 3D and HD.

These include encounters with Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltress, the legendary birds that are hidden around Kanto, footage of Mew, more wild Pokemon encounters, some footage of the game’s UI, as well as just showing the game’s overworld, and how you can see Pokemon in the actual world now, instead of only during random encounters.

The trailer actually makes the game look incredibly charming and appealing, and for me sort of washes away some of the bad taste in my mouth from the recent news that the game will excise held items and abilities. Hopefully, the final game can be an appealing, cute adventure in its own right- I don’t expect more from it at this point.

Pokemon Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Eevee! will launch on November 16 on Nintendo Switch.
