Game Overview:
Pokemon Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Eevee! are based on the original Gameboy title Pokemon Yellow, and serve as the series’ debut on the Nintendo Switch.
Though not being called a traditional Pokemon sequel, Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Eevee will be structured similarly to Pokemon Yellow, though will be lacking in several series staples, such as wild Pokemon battles, and will instead integrate features from the mobile game Pokemon GO!
The experiment seems to have been a one-off for the time being.
