Red Dead Redemption 2 Tops NPD Software Charts in November

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, Battlefield 5, Pokemon Let's Go, and (surprisingly enough) Fallout 76 chart high as well.

Red Dead Redemption 2

Unlike the hardware side of things, the software side of the NPD report sees a very clear winner, with Red Dead Redemption 2 emerging as the highest selling game in the US in the month of November (via VentureBeat). Notably enough, Red Dead Redemption 2’s sales already exceed the lifetime sales of its predecessor by 40 per cent.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 was #2, and still remains the highest selling game of the year, and is also the fastest selling PS4 and Xbox One game of all time, trailing only its own predecessor, Call of Duty: WW2. Meanwhile Battlefield 5 came in at third place. Fallout 76 came in fourth place, though its sales are down from Fallout 4 and New Vegas alike. Pokemon Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Let’s Go, Eevee! took the next two spots.

Of note is the fact that Pokemon’s sales were split up, and do not count digital sales, unlike most of the other games on the list. We already do know, thanks to Nintendo’s report this morning, that Pokemon has sold 2 million units in the US so far, so it is likely it would have been nearer the top accounting for those two factors. Meanwhile, launch month sales for Pokemon Let’s Go are also the second highest in the history of the franchise, trailing N64’s Pokemon Stadium.
