Nintendo Switch and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Hold On To Top Spot In New Media Create Charts

The newest Media Create charts for video game software and hardware sales in Japan are out, and to the surprise of absolutely no one, Nintendo’s Switch and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate hold on to the top sports on their respective charts, as has been the case for weeks now. Debutant title Dragon Quest Builders 2 manages a decent showing, with over 205,000 units sold across the PS4 and Switch versions (the PS4 version selling 110,000 units, the Switch version selling 97,000 units).

Elsewhere, Switch titles see major spikes in sales, with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Pokemon Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Let’s Go, Eevee!, Super Mario Odyssey, Splatoon 2, and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild all seeing week on week gains in sales performances. Onimusha Warlords saw a weak debut, selling slightly over 20,000 units for the PS4 version, and the Switch version not charting at all. Katamari Damacy Reroll fared even worse, with just over 11,000 units sold.
